Florida Cavers always look forward to the annual Cave Cavort. This year River City Grotto hosted the Cavort right on Jerry’s Farm in Williston FL. The chances of rain were rapidly decreasing making the weather look very nice for the 130 cavers attending cavers.
The water table has been high all year, high enough to flood a lot of caves. Fortunately we still had some caves to go through.
A couple of cavers arrived early to help set up and a few more arrived Friday. One evening trip to Whitecliff Cave left Friday evening, with Ocala Caverns, Whitecliff, Hitch-hiker, Briar, and Screech Owl on Saturdays roster. All trips returned with smiling faces. Sony’s BBQ was set up, an awesome raffle was held, and then the Fire Water Tent Revival Band jammed until the wee hours of the morning. It was a memorable evening for all.
It just doesn’t get any better.
