During the second week of the new year of 2017, I received a Call from Joe who wanted to do a little caving. We originally wanted to visit Warrens but it was a bit last minute to make plans. So we decided to visit a few small caves in the Ocala area off the beaten path. On January 17, we hit Toad Hall, Deathtrap, and Diggers Delight.
Lacking identification Typical passage.
Joe finds the entrance to Deathtrap. Someone has rigged some very sketchy hand lines into the entrance. Rather than remove them, we just used them.
Joe goes in. Phil Comes down.
Joe explores the upper passage.
Phil exits the sump. Fine Chirt examples
Phil back in the main junction.
Lets go toward the light. Phil exits Deathtrap.
Since we had already been in a couple caves and were a bit tired, we decided to push it and explore one more before the drive home–Diggers Delight
Once we found the entrance, Joe just dove right in.
Joe finds the terminus. Thankfully the Vultures no longer inhabited the cave.
An awesome day exploring a few seldom visited caves.
