Membership Applications:

Applications for membership must be made in writing using the membership form, and accompanied by the required dues. All applications for membership shall be acted on by the Executive Committee; successful applications will be approved by a majority vote by the Executive Committee.

Membership Dues:

Membership dues shall be payable by May 1st of each year. Members joining at other times will have their membership costs pro-rated.

Types of Membership:

Full Regular:

• This is for people who are already NSS members.
• Full members have full voting rights, may hold office and will receive any generally distributed publications.
• The cost of full membership is $15 per year.
• Note, NSS membership is not included in this cost.

Full Family:

• This is for people who are already NSS members and are part of the same household as a Full Regular member.
• Full Family members have full voting rights, may hold office
• Full Family members will not receive any generally distributed publications, as these will be sent to the Full Regular member at the household address.
• The cost of Full Family membership is $5 per person per year.
• Note, NSS membership is not included in this cost.

Associate Regular:

• This is for people who are not and do not wish to become NSS members.
• Associate members can vote on Grotto items (provided they do not affect the NSS) and will receive any generally distributed publications.
• Associate members will not be able to hold office or vote on any items affecting the NSS.
• The cost of Associate membership is $15 per year.

Associate Family:

• This is for people who are not and do not wish to become NSS members and are part of the same household as a Full Regular or Associate Regular member.
• Associate Family members can vote on Grotto items (provided they do not affect the NSS).
• Associate Family members will not be able to hold office or vote on any items affecting the NSS, nor will they receive any generally distributed publications, as these will be sent to the Full or Associate Regular member at the household address.
• The cost of Associate Family membership is $5 per person per year.

So you are a caver, joined a grotto, and you go caving. Consider joining the National Speleological Society. That will show your commitment to cave and karst study, exploration, and conservation.
